San Diego Summit
The San Diego Summit is a unique forum for professionals across all disciplines and philosophies to gather for in-depth exchange of current information on all facets of violence, abuse and trauma prevention, intervention and research. Our cutting-edge programming focuses on linking research, practice, policy and advocacy to promote violence-free living for all. Opportunities for networking, continuing education, specialty certifications are also available.
Hawai‘i Summit
The Hawai‘i International Summit is a multidisciplinary gathering of professionals from around the world working together to tackle the major issues in fields dealing with violence, abuse, and trauma. International and local speakers share their findings on causation, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation at both the global and community levels. Opportunities for networking, continuing education, specialty certifications are also available.
Clinical & Forensic Services
We provide professional training, clinical and forensic services focused on violence, abuse, and trauma. IVAT’s clinical team offers both professional clinical and forensic services. Forensic services offered include conducting comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological evaluations to answer a wide variety of psycho-legal questions. Other forensic services include professional consultation and expert witness testimony on a variety of topic areas.
IVAT clinicians also offer individual, couple, and family therapy services. All of our clinicians are trained in a number of trauma-focused and evidence-based treatment modalities to target a wide variety of concerns. All treatment services are provided on a sliding scale fee. All unlicensed clinicians are supervised by one of our licensed psychologists on staff.
Certifications & Continuing Education
IVAT is a comprehensive resource and training center addressing all aspects of violence, abuse and trauma across the lifespan. We strive to bridge the gaps between policy, practice and research to help improve current system-response by cultivating multidiscipline prevention and intervention strategies that promote trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and gender-responsive prevention and interventions. IVAT also certifies mental health and other treatment providers competent to deliver high quality services to a range of challenging populations. IVAT’s training events are opportunities to earn continuing education credits. Additionally, as an expert training center we co-sponsor other organizations’ conferences or training workshops to offer continuing education.
Stop the Silence®
Stop the Silence® is a department of the Institute on Violence, Abuse and Trauma committed to prevention, treatment, and mitigation of child sexual abuse (CSA), other adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), and related interpersonal trauma. We provide help and resources through comprehensive programming with awareness, education/outreach, training, and policy development and reform. We work to address the relationships between childhood trauma and the broader issues of overall family and community violence, and violence within and between communities.
Ho‘omaluhia
A Center of Excellence where East meets West, where indigenous voices are valued and diversity is honored, Ho‘omaluhia is the Hawai‘i-Pacific branch of the Institute on Violence, Abuse and Trauma (IVAT).
The organization has been doing business for over 30 years and delivering trainings throughout the Hawaiian Islands and the Pacific for more than 20 years. Ho‘omaluhia’s mission is to improve the quality of life and to contribute to violence-free, abuse-free living for all the peoples of Hawai‘i.
